One of my favorite projects is my family tree. My family on both sides arrived from England in the early 1600’s. Having all that information, I decided to make my tree.
Making a background on my computer seem to be a fairly easy project. I found a sky and a tree with no leaves copyright free in Photoshop and after editing the picture, sent it to Spoonflower to be printed. I was quite excited when I got the fabric and it was beautiful. Next I scanned some autumn leaves in my computer and put them in a file. I typed the names of my family members on each leaf, printed them on my Epson ink jet printer, lined them with pliable stabilizer, and backed them with black fabric. After zigzagging around each leaf, I cut the printed leaf and stitched them on the tree.
I like to consider this my signature piece.
