When I first met my husband he had a Golden Retriever named Sarah. She was a wonderful girl but I vowed never to have one because of their long “tumbleweed” fur. 35 years later and 2 robots, we have 3, Duke, Lucy and their Mom Annie (our 4th Sadie recently passed). They are all precious and make our lives much fuller. A long time friend named Duke “Lover Boy” because he is so affectionate and the name stuck. This Duke is 36X36” and collaged with life like colors. He was hard to blend even after using miles of thread—directional fur was also a challenge!
Duke is appliquéd on a background of batik confetti and his feet hang off the bottom. Every quilt I make gives me a opportunity to learn new techniques. My favorite part of Lover Boy are those Eyes.
